Foreign Languages, Applied Language - German Concentration, B.S.

The ability to speak and understand German opens countless doors and expands one's view of the world. With the news of what's happening around the globe only minutes away, the understanding of different cultures that comes from being bi- or multi-lingual is invaluable. Dynamic faculty members, committed to helping students become citizens of the global community, engage in teaching, research, publication, and other professional activities.

The major in Foreign Languages with an Applied Language - German concentration consists of 27 semester hours (excluding 1010). The concentration is designed to prepare students for careers in emergent and in-demand fields that require or are enriched by proficiency in a second language. It is also intended to prepare students to thrive in an increasingly global economy and multicultural society. Before beginning the junior year, the student should file a degree plan with his or her advisor.
