English, Writing Concentration, B.A.

The Writing Concentration in the Bachelor of Arts in English is offered through the College of Liberal Arts at MTSU. The Writing concentration is designed for students who want to focus on a variety of writing skills, in forms such as fiction, nonfiction, poetry, plays, and technical writing.

This concentration allows students to build on the English major's literary core with a specialized curriculum meant to foster writing skills. In addition to extensive coursework focused on creative writing in literary genres, students can take courses in linguistics, rhetoric, and professional and technical writing. Writing courses are supplemented by electives in the areas of film, literature, and culture.
